Center for Community Medicine

The Center for Community Medicine was established in 2004 to contribute to the integrated medical education, research activity, and medical service for promoting community-based medicine. This center is composed of 9 divisions (Community and Family Medicine, Public Health, Environmental Medicine, Human Genetics, Policy- Making in Community Health, Support in Community Medicine ,Oriental Medicine, Human Resources Development for Community Medicine and General Medicine ) and aims at establishing a major center in Japan for systematizing and publicizing community-based medicine.

Center for Molecular Medicine

CMM (Center for Molecular Medicine) was established in 1998 to conduct the research on frontier medical science. CMM was supported by the grant of High-tech Research Center (HRC) program from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and the project titles were "Molecular Study on Intractable Diseases and Development of Gene Therapy Technologies"(1998-2002) and "Development of Basic Technologies for Genome Medicine and Regenerative Medicine"(2003-2007).In 2008, the third project started by the support of the grant of Support Program for Strategic Research Platform, and the title is "Bioimaging Research: from Molecular Pathogenesis to Novel Therapeutics". CMM is composed of 7 research divisions (Cell and Molecular Medicine, Stem Cell Regulation, Genetic Therapeutics, Functional Genomics, Regenerative Medicine, Bioimaging, and Biology).

Center for Information

The Center for Infomation was established in April 2003, to plan and promote practical use of information technology for activating and improving education, research, medical services in the hospital and community medicine. The computer laboratory room and the educatonal server room were set up in this center in September 2003, and they have been utilized as the hub for computerization of education. The Center for infomation aims to improve the network infrastructure, to promote campus-wide adoption of information technology, and to facilitate communication with alumni who are spread all over Japan.

RI (Radio-Isotope) Center

The RI Center was established as the joint-use facility in 1974 in order to conduct experiments using radiation and radio-isotopes in the life and medical science. The rooms for recombinant DNA and laboratory animal were added in 1989. To promote research using radio-isotope, strict safety measures and practices are enforced, and the radioactivity inside the laboratories, air and water from the facility is constantly monitored and controlled, in accordance to legally mandated regulations.

Center for Experiental Medicine

Center for Experimental Medicine was established in 1987 to breed and keep laboratory animal and has conducted the center control of animal research under frontier medical science and animal welfare. This center is a joint utility facility and all staff has grappled activity of the routine work and the available utilization to correspond the needs of the education, the research and society.

Medical Simulation Center

The Medical Simulation Center was established in April 2008 in order to improve the quality, safety and productivity of medical treatment. The center supports the basic training for medical students, the skill improvement for medical staff, and the promotion of community-based medicine, by means of simulators. The center not only has sophisticated simulators but also training rooms with one-way mirrors and video systems for efficient and effective training. The Medical Simulation Center develops both training techniques by using simulators and medical simulation machines.

Center for Development of Advanced Medical Technology

Division for Medical Skill Training is set up in Center for Experimental Medicine in 2007 and has performed supporting, control and management on pre-and post-graduation education, research ,and, the training the inside and outside the university using experimental miniature pigs. The experimental facility for large-sized animal was built by the government grant in March 2009 and Center for Development of Advanced Medical Technology was inaugurated in April 2009.This center is opening to outside institutes for advanced medical technology, medical education and research.

20th-Anniversary Commemorative Building

The building was constructed in December, 1993, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the founding of Jichi Medical University. The anniversary building contains the administrative bureau, boardrooms, The Center for Information, The Medical Simulation Center and laboratories of the general education subdivision.

Information and In-service Training Centerfor Community Medicine

The Community Medicine Information Center was established in 1981 to provide medical training and information to doctors who practice community medicine in remote areas and on islands, and to other medical staff, including nurses and medical technicions. This Center has a library, assembly halls, study rooms, and a restaurant.
