My name is Thiwi. I came from Indonesia. I graduated as a specialist of internal medicine and worked for Division of Gastro-Hepatology before coming to Japan for my doctoral course at Division of Virology, JIchi Medical University. During the course, I performed the studies on the identification and genetic diversity of novel hepatitis E virus (HEV) genotypes and molecular analysis of the release mechanism of rat HEV. Following the graduation, I pursue my carrier as a post-doctoral research fellow in this laboratory. My current research themes include the identification of novel anti-HEV drugs and the molecular analysis of HEV replication. The results are expected to provide new insights into the HEV life cycle to contribute to the development of improved methods for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of HEV infection.
