Welcome to Matsumura Lab’s website!! Since its establishment in 2023, we have been engaging in research, patient care, and education related to cardiovascular and genetic diseases. We are looking for young researchers who want to become leaders in the next generation of cardiovascular and genetic research. In our group, you can learn how to handle clinical samples, cell cultures, and mice models, while also mastering the indispensable skills in bioinformatics. Genetic Counselor Training Course
As our understanding of the human genome grows, the need for genetic counselors is greater than ever. Genetic counselors play a crucial role in helping patients and their families navigate the complexities of genetic information and its impact on their lives. However, their number in the northern Kanto area is minimal. To meet these social demands, we established a training course for certified genetic counselors in 2021.
Research
We study a wide range of phenomena related to human cardiovascular and genetic diseases including the identification and functional analysis of disease susceptibility genes for cardiovascular and metabolic diseases and the identification of causative genes for pediatric congenital diseases.
