-- Division of bacteriology, school of medicine,
Jichi medical university --
Multiple Postdoctoral Positions (Three to Five)
in Next-Generation Phage Engineering, Cancer Drug Delivery, CRISPR Therapeutics, and Molecular Diagnostics
Shape the Future of Biomedical Innovation
The Division of Bacteriology at Jichi Medical University is recruiting
3–5 highly motivated postdoctoral researchers to join internationally
competitive research programs led by Professor Longzhu Cui. Our
laboratory is pioneering B-CAP (DNA-free bacterial-targeting capsid)
technology and developing transformative platforms for molecular
diagnostics, RNA delivery, antimicrobial therapeutics, and targeted
cancer treatment.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to participate in
large-scale national research projects, including AMED-supported
programs, and contribute to translational research with strong
potential for clinical and commercial applications.
Research Opportunities
You will contribute to one or more of the following cutting-edge projects:
- Development of tumor-targeted phage-based drug delivery systems (DDS) for cancer therapy.
- Engineering of Escherichia coli-derived B-CAPs for Cas13a loading and RNA delivery.
- Development and commercialization of a CRISPR-Cas13a-loaded AB-capsid platform for direct detection of Staphylococcus aureus without nucleic acid extraction or amplification.
- Development of next-generation phage-based DNA
vaccine delivery platforms for infectious diseases and other biomedical
applications.
- Phage therapeutics against intracellular bacterial pathogens, particularly non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM).
Who Should Apply?
We welcome applications from highly motivated candidates holding a
Ph.D. (or expected to obtain one soon) with expertise in one or more of
the following areas:
Project 1: Tumor-Targeted Phage-Based Drug Delivery Systems (DDS)
• Drug Delivery Systems (DDS)
• Nanomedicine

Applicants from related fields, including microbiology, biotechnology,
biomedical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, molecular medicine,
and life sciences, are also encouraged to apply.
Prior experience in bacteriophage research is welcomed but not
required. We particularly encourage talented researchers from
complementary disciplines who are interested in applying their
expertise to next-generation diagnostics, therapeutics, vaccine
development, and drug delivery technologies.
Appointment
Initial appointment is for one year and may be extended based on performance, research progress, and funding availability..
