Main theme of research:

Development of the prevention system for cardiovascular effects of environmental stress
---The effects of the physical or chemical factors on the cardiovascular system---

To extend the healthy life expectancy, the immediate developments of the prevention or treatment system for cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are needed. CVD is complex in origin, with contribution of environmental and genetic factors. We research the adverse effects of the “environmental stress”, such as physical or chemical environmental factors on the cardiovascular system and investigate the mechanisms underlying the effects. Now we focus to elucidate the effects of fine particles or nanoparticles on vascular endothelial function and the mechanism of inflammation induced by them. We also investigate the biological effects of environmental chemical substances or cigarette smoke using in vivo and in vitro studies and field survey.
