Our lab is trying to elucidate the mechanisms controlling brain function and the pathophysiology of neurological disorders, based on observing the structures underlying biological phenomena.
Changing how to observe the phenomena can fundamentally change the questions we have. When new imaging technologies become available, phenomena which were previously unimaginable can emerge. For example, despite having a history of nearly 100 years, electron microscopy has seen remarkable advances in recent years and has been continuously generating new discoveries and questions. We would like to continue incorporating new technologies and extend our research to explore biological phenomena previously unseen.
