Admissions are determined through acceptance of recommended applicants and Admissions Office acceptance in some prefectures and general acceptance in all prefectures.
The enrollment capacity of the School of Medicine was 100 slots, with an additional 10 in 2008 based on the government policy to develop more new physicians, an additional 3 allocated to Tochigi Prefecture in 2009, and an additional 10 from the new growth strategy of the government in 2012, bringing the total to 123 overall.
