Alumni of Jichi Medical University in Action All Over Japan
Since JMU’s foundation in 1972, more than 4,900 of its alumni have become physicians and have worked as general practitioners on the front line in various medical settings in remote areas and islands across Japan.
JMU offers comprehensive, systematic, and continuous opportunities for lifetime medical training to its alumni, so that they can always provide the latest medical services in these settings. At the same time, we closely exchange information with our alumni, and have established a dedicated section for providing strengthened support in community medicine. In this way, we are making a concerted effort with our alumni to improve and enhance community medicine.
As today’s society demands the coordination and integration of health care, medical care, the practice of community medicine accurately responds to this demand. As our alumni have been committed to community medicine as general practitioners, social expectations and the roles of JMU and its alumni will continue to expand.
